Horejsi Named B1G Freshman of Week

University of Minnesota swimmer Lindsey Horejsi has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. The native of Albert Lea, Minn., competed for the conference at the USA College Challenge last weekend.

Horejsi clocked in with an NCAA provisional time of 59.50 in the 100-yard breaststroke. She finished third in the race while competing with members of the U.S. National Team and top swimmers in the Big Ten.

Horejsi also swam on the fourth-place 400 medley relay team.

She is the second Gopher to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors this season, as diver Sarah Bacon did so on Nov. 2.
