About 14 months from their scheduled opening, the new building of the Athletes Village are all beginning to take shape, especially the Land O'Lakes Center for Excellence.

Structural steel work continues on the Center for Excellence, but that is nearing its end. Enclosure work on the building has begun as well, with expectations that it will be completely enclosed by February. Rough-in of the buildings interior is also beginning this month, with that work continuing until later this spring.

Under the same roof, the Basketball Development Center continues to push ahead as well. With construction remaining on schedule, the basketball courts, lockers, equipment and interior furnishings will be fully installed by next autumn.

On the existing Bierman building, most of the activity has gone to the roof. After re-doing the front parking lot and driveway, crews have been excavating new footings in front of the building and have begun both foundation work at ground level and structural work on the building's roof. The existing Bierman lobby will become the new primary entrance to the Athletes Village.

Meanwhile, work on the core walls for the Football Performance Center continues, and footings for the new Indoor Practice Facility are going in as well.

As fundraising for this project continues, construction remains on time and on budget.
