MINNEAPOLIS - Rival Films examines the team culture that provides a foundation for the Gopher women's hockey program in a short film shot during the team's road trip at Ohio State earlier this season. The film is the third installment in a project that includes a multi-media experience of black and white images and audio interviews along with another short film created three years ago.

From Rival Films...
In 2014 we produced a short film called "The Gold Standard" highlighting how the Gophers' culture created an environment of success based on self-sacrifice.
Two years later, after the Gophers had won 3 of the past 4 national championships, revisiting the ongoing legacy being created by head coach Brad Frost and his coaching staff seemed like a fun idea. Together with Frost and hockey communications director Mandy Hansen, four student-athletes were selected for a black and white photo essay.
Now, in our third look inside the program, we hit the road with the Gophers for an early season series against conference foe Ohio State. While in Columbus, we were able to re-examine the team's culture through the eyes of Lee Stecklein, Cara Piazza, Sarah Potomak and Brad Frost.
As the defending national champions (yes, again), there is no program in men's or women's college hockey right now that can rival the success of the University of Minnesota women's team over the past five seasons.
