Gophers Win Two Relays at Winter Nationals

During the first session of AT&T Winter National Championships in Atlanta, Ga., University of Minnesota women's swimmers claimed two relay wins. The men had a silver and a fourth-place finish.
WOMEN
Minnesota won both relays on the opening night of the meet. Tevyn Waddell, Lindsey Horejsi, Danielle Nack and Zoe Avestruz clocked a 1:37.71 in the 200-yard medley relay to win by nearly two seconds.
Three of the same four swam in the 800 free relay. Brooke Zeiger, Waddell, Avestruz and Nack won gold in 7:12.63, edging out Indiana by 0.11.
MEN
The Gophers took second to Indiana in the 200 medley relay. Daryl Turner, Conner McHugh, Paul Fair and Bowe Becker finished in 1:27.25.
Minnesota placed fourth in the 800 free relay in 6:35.94. Becker, Fair, Logan Redondo and Michael Messner combined for a time of 6:35.94.
