Gophers Finish Kitty Harrison Invite

Sunday's Results
Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Golden Gophers finished their last day at the Kitty Harrison Invite with three singles victories Sunday.
Maja Vujic defeated Charlotte's Morgan Smith 6-1, 6-3 while Kalyssa Hall won her match 7-5, 6-2 over Aimee Tarun of Iowa.
Following the two extra matches, the Gophers played singles matches versus student-athletes from Texas.
Caroline Ryba fell to Bianca Turati 6-3, 6-3 and Camila Vargas Gomez was defeated 6-4, 6-4 by Neda Koprcina.
Mehvish Safdar played into the tiebreaker with Anna Turati but lost 4-6, 6-2, 1-0(8). In the next match, Annemarie Emme was defeated by Petra Granic 6-2, 6-3.
Barbara Mancera also played to a tiebreaker set but fell 6-2, 6-4, 1-0(5) to Dani Wagland. Freshman Karyna Bihel played Katie Poluta and lost by a score of 6-0, 6-4.
Caitlyn Merzbacher finished her tournament with a 6-4, 6-2 loss to Daniella Roldan while Cammy Frei came away with an 8-1 victory over Chelsea Crovetti.
The Maroon and Gold finished the weekend with 14 total victories. The Kitty Harrison Invite marked the end of the fall season for the Gophers, they will start the spring season Jan. 15 as they host the Upper Midwest Intercollegiate Tournament.
