The University of Minnesota volleyball team is heading to the National Semifinals for the second year in a row, after remaining undefeated at home for the second year in a row.
The Golden Gophers are riding on a 36 home game win streak, which includes four NCAA matches from this season and two from last season. Minnesota began the streak with a 3-0 sweep of Iowa on Oct. 25, 2014. Within those 36 matches, the Gophers went 24-0 against Big Ten teams and hold a 6-0 NCAA record at home.
Minnesota will face No. 6 Stanford on Thursday, who delivered the Gophers their first loss this season. The Gophers hold a 14-game win streak, and hope to carry that to Columbus. If successful on Thursday, the Gophers will compete in the championship game against the winner of the Nebraska/Texas match.
