The University of Minnesota men's gymnastics program will host the annual Maroon vs. Gold intrasquad meet at the Sports Pavilion on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. CT. It will be a first look at the Gophers before the 2017 competition season begins.

"We're really looking forward to seeing how this team steps up," head coach Mike Burns said. "We had a great fall of training. This intrasquad will be our first look at what we're capable of."

Along with free admission, Gophers fans will have a chance to meet the team, get autographs, posters, and more.

Gold Team members Jalon Stephens and Justin Karstadt are slated to compete all-around.

The Gophers are ranked No. 4 in the preseason coaches poll by the College Gymnastics Association (CGA). Minnesota placed sixth at the 2016 NCAA Championships, the program's highest finish in nine years. All-Americans Zach Liebler, Joel Gagnon and Justin Karstadt each return.
