The University of Minnesota has had two busy, yet exciting days in preparation for the NCAA Championships. After a practice at the Sports Pavilion Tuesday, the team loaded up the bus and headed to the airport to catch a chartered flight to Columbus.
The group was greeted by the local organizing group at the hotel, where it was decked out in Minnesota colors and NCAA logos.
The Gophers followed with a busy practice day at the NCAA Championships, Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Minnesota was the first team scheduled on the court as the Gophers held their open team practice from 10-11:30.
Following the practice, it was time to pull on the white uniform and begin photo shoots, media interviews and video board stand ups in preparation for tomorrow's match against Stanford. Minnesota had student-athletes and coaches meet with the ESPN crews to discuss in detail their team and playing style.
Following the ESPN/Videoboard shoot, Minnesota held its press conference, where head coach Hugh McCutcheon and 2016 First Team All-Americans, Sarah Wilhite and Samantha Seliger-Swenson attended.
After some rest time in the hotel, the Gophers attended the NCAA banquet to officially kick off the national championship.
