Kolander Named Senior CLASS Award All-American

Simone Kolander (Lakeville, Minn.) has been named a 2016 First Team Senior CLASS Award All-American, announced today by the organization.

The award, chosen by a vote of Division I women's soccer coaches, national soccer media and fans, is given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in Division I women's soccer. In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: classroom, community, character and competition.

Kolander is a two-time Big Ten Forward of the Year and two-time captain. Kolander led the conference in points this season with 28 (11 goals, 6 assists). Off the field, Kolander is a communications major who has held an internship with KSTP, and has spent time volunteering at local organizations.

Duke's Christina Gibbons was the overall award winner.
