Minnesota Head Coach Marlene Stollings
Opening statement...
"I'm very proud of our team for outrebounding them by 30. Obviously that was a huge difference in the game and something we scouted coming in, and I'm proud of them for focusing on that piece. Scoring 111… I thought our shooting percentages needed to improve and I thought they did a good job today being efficient with our scoring, and that's something we have not had in our last two or three games. So I'm very proud of our efficiency, especially from the 3-point line. Defensively, we have to lock in a bit better on closeouts. We didn't want to give up 16 3-point baskets. One of their strategies coming in, we knew they were a high-volume 3-point shooting team, so we would like to tighten that up."
On rebounding and second-chance points...
"Jessie (Edwards) was really key in the second half. She had a double-double with 12 rebounds, and seven of those were offensive, and most of those she got put-back points off of. It was a huge difference in the game. Any team that can shoot the 3-point ball as well as they can, can hang around in a game and come back from large deficits pretty quickly. So it was crucial, especially in the second half."
