Banham Named to Naismith Midseason 30

Rachel Banham, who was on the Naismith Trophy's early-season watch list, has now been included in the award's midseason top 30. The Naismith Trophy is presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to the nation's top player.
Banham is first in the Big Ten and third in the country in scoring, with an average of 25.8 points per game after tying an NCAA record with 60 at Northwestern. The senior guard also leads Minnesota with 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. Banham has scored 20 or more points 21 times this season.
Currently, four national awards committees have included Banham on their lists. The others are the Wooden Award, the USBWA's Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and the Dawn Staley Award for the top guard in the nation.
