Gophers Facing Dartmouth

The No. 58 University of Minnesota Gophers are headed to Hanover, N.H. to take on No. 41 Dartmouth this weekend.

The Gophers had a weekend off after competing in the Courtside Classic the weekend before. They lost a down to the wire 4-3 match against DePaul before topping New Mexico 5-2. They are 6-2 overall on the season.

Seniors Rolling
Julia Courter, Jessika Mozia and Paula Rincon-Otero are all on a four match win streak and went undefeated at the Courtside Classic. Rincon-Otero is 10-3 overall on the season while Courter is 9-5 including 5-1 at the No. 1 and 2 spot and Mozia is 8-5 overall.

The Rest of the Lineup
Caroline Ryba is 2-1 at the No. 1 spot and is 8-5 overall on the season. Freshman Annemarie Emme has wins at the No. 2, 3 and 4 spots on the season and is 10-10 overall. Mehvish Safdar has wins at the No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 spots while Camila Vargas Gomez has picked up wins at the No. 4 and 6 spots. Caitlyn Merzbacher has a win at No. 6 and Maja Vujic is on a five match win streak with wins coming at the No. 5 and 6 spots.

Doubles
Minnesota has taken the doubles point in seven of eight matches this season. Courter and Ryba have looked strong together and are 4-0 in dual match play together. At the No. 1 spot Rincon-Otero has teamed up with freshman Annemarie Emme for a 6-1 overall record together.

About Dartmouth
The Big Green come in with a 4-2 overall record. They are on a three match win streak with ranked wins over Brown and Boston College. Two players in Julia Schroeder and Katherine Yau both have hit 11 wins while Taylor Ng and Kristina Mathis are 14-3 together in doubles including 5-1 at the No. 1 spot.

Milestone Watch
Coach Chuck Merzbacher reached 400 career victories with the win over New Mexico. Courter is now at 75 career singles wins tied for 12th all-time in Minnesota history while Mozia is tied for 20th all-time with 72 singles victories. Courter's 67 doubles wins has her 19th while Mozia sits with 65 wins and is 21st on the Gopher career doubles win list.
