MIAMI - The Minnesota women's golf team saw all six of its players shoot within four strokes of par in the opening round of the Hurricane Invitational on Monday, as the Gophers stand tied for sixth following 18 holes of play at The Biltmore Golf Club.

Leading the way is sophomore Sabrine Garrison, who fired an even-par 71 to tie for 11th place, with classmate Heather Ciskowski one shot back in a tie for 19th at one-over-par 72.

Freshman Maggie Heggerston, marking her first tournament in the Gopher lineup, shot an opening-round 74 (+3) to tie for 35th. One stroke behind her are junior Emie Peronnin and freshman Muyu Wu among a 15-player tie for 45th place. Included in that group is freshman Niamh Ward, competing as an individual this week.

Northwestern's Hannah Kim holds the first-round lead at four-under-par 67, pacing her Wildcats to the top of the team leaderboard at seven-under-par. The Gophers are tied with fellow Big Ten member Michigan at eight-over-par 292 in eighth place.

The Hurricane Invitational resumes Tuesday morning, with tee times scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. ET. Minnesota begins its day beginning at 8:10 a.m. off the first tee.
