ORLANDO - Junior Emie Peronnin earned the best finish of her career, tying for sixth to lead the Minnesota women's golf team on the final day of the UCF Challenge. Peronnin (72-73-75-220), finished among five players at four-over-par at the Eagle Creek Golf Club on Tuesday.
As a team, the Gophers placed 13th at +46 (307-299-304-910).
Peronnin's first career top-10 finish led the way for the Gophers, who also placed in the top-20 individually with sophomore Sabrine Garrison who was three strokes behind (77-72-74-223) in a six-way tie for 19th at seven-over-par.
Sophomore Heather Ciskowski (81-78-75-234) and freshman Muyu Wu (77-76-81-234) both finished among six players tied at 18-over-par, while sophomore Celia Kuenster rounded out the Gopher lineup tied for 88th (82-78-80-240).
Houston captured the team title at 21-over-par 885, while East Carolina's Frida Gustafsson Spang was the medalist with a three-under-par 213 finish.
For Peronnin, the performance topped her previous best tournament finish of a tie for 13th at the Hurricane Invitational in 2015.
The Gophers will return to action in three weeks, heading back to the Sunshine State to take part in the Hurricane Invitational at the Biltmore Golf Club in Miami.
