The University of Minnesota opened competition at the 2016 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships this morning at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.
Sophomore Brooke Zeiger got Minnesota on the board after earning NCAA All-America Honorable Mention accolades in the 500-yard freestyle. Zeiger finished 15th with a time of 4:41.08.
Samantha Harding finished 21st overall in prelims of the 500 free with a 4:42.22
Lexi Tenenbaum led Minnesota in 1-meter diving, placing 24th overall with a score of 275.35. Senior Jessica Ramberg followed for 30th (267.20), while Yu Zhou finished 37th (256.90).
After the first full day of competition, Minnesota sits in 32nd place.
ACTION CONTINUES
The 2016 NCAA Championships will resume tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT with prelims of the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 200 medley relay. 3-meter diving prelims will follow at 11:30 a.m. CT. @GopherSwimDive will have updated prelims results all day.
