Gophers Finish 12th at Mountain View

TUCSON, Ariz. - Sophomore Sabrine Garrison earned her third top-20 finish of the season, leading the Minnesota women's golf team as competition wrapped up Saturday at the Mountain View Collegiate Invitational.
Garrison fired a one-over-par 73 during the final round to finish the tournament tied for 17th at three-over-par (72-74-73-219). Junior Emie Peronnin (72-75-76-223) and sophomore Heather Ciskowski (74-72-77-223) both tied for 30th at seven-over-par. Freshmen Muyu Wu (77-77-80-234) and Maggie Heggerston (79-80-75-234) also tied, placing 73rd at +18.
Competing individually, freshman Niamh Ward was among a tie for 69th place with a score of 16-over-par (76-78-78-232).
Georgia captured the team title at five-under-par, with the Bulldogs' Jillian Hollis earning medalist honors at 11-under-par.
The Gophers will compete once more before the Big Ten Championships, heading to Napa, Calif., for the Silverado Showdown on April 3-5.
