Gophers Finish 11th At Hurricane Invitational

MIAMI - Sophomore Heather Ciskowski fired an even-par 71 on the final day of competition at the Hurricane Invitational, pacing the Minnesota women's golf team to an 11th-place finish on Tuesday.
Ciskowski finished the tournament at five-over-par (72-74-71-217), tying for 24th place. Freshman Muyu Wu earned her best finish to date, tying for 36th (75-73-72-220). One shot back was junior Emie Peronnin, who tied for 41st (75-72-74-221).
Sophomore Sabrine Garrison (71-84-74-229) and freshman Maggie Heggerston (74-76-79-229) were among a tie in 72nd place. Individual competitor Niamh Ward placed tied for 88th (75-87-79-241).
Hannah Kim claimed medalist honors at 14-under-par 199, leading her Northwestern Wildcats to the team title at 24-under-par. The Gophers (292-295-291-878) ended the tournament with a team score of 26-over-par.
The Gophers return to action in just over two weeks, traveling to Tucson, Ariz., for the Mountain View Collegiate Invitational on March 18-19.
