Tonight's game was the 189th all-time meeting, with Minnesota now holding a 96-93 lead in the series. The game was the 97th meeting in Minneapolis, with the Golden Gophers holding a 63-34 advantage in those games. Richard Pitino is now 1-5 versus Wisconsin. Coach Pitino's third-year record at Minnesota now stands at 51-49, and his four-year career mark is 69-63.
SENIOR NIGHT
Senior Joey King played his final home game at Williams Arena, making his 69th career start (19th this season). King, who transferred to Minnesota after one season at Drake University, finished with six points and four rebounds against the Badgers. He enters his final regular season game on Saturday at Rutgers with career totals of 132 games played, 1140 points, 403 rebounds, 146 assists, 57 steals and 44 blocked shots.
MURPHY IN DOUBLE FIGURES FOR 20TH TIME
Jordan Murphy finished with 15 points and five rebounds, marking his 20th game this season in double-figures for points scored. Murphy made 7-of-12 field goals, including 1-of-2 from beyond the arc. In Big Ten play, he's averaging 12.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
SHARP SHOOTER
Stephon Sharp started his second straight game for the Gophers, and he has reached double-figures in both games. Sharp made his first career start on Sunday at Illinois, making 6-of-10 field goals (including 4-of-6 three-pointers) to finish with 19 points. Tonight, he led the Gophers with 16 points, making 4-of-11 field goals and 7-of-8 free throws. Sharp added four rebounds and three assists. In his two starts, Sharp has made 10-of-21 field goals, including 5-of-9 from three-point range, while averaging 17.5 points.
KONATE HAS CAREER NIGHT ON BOARDS
Bakary Konate came off the bench to lead both teams with a career-high 14 rebounds, including five on the offensive end of the court, while also scoring five points in 27 minutes. It was Konate's fourth game this season with double-digit rebounds. His previous best had been 11 versus Milwaukee on Dec. 23.
