Inside the Scorecard: Rúnar Arnorsson's 62
Following his school-record round and first collegiate win, Rúnar Arnorsson has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. The honor is the first for the sophomore from Hafnarfjörður, Iceland.
Arnorsson broke a 17-year-old school record with a score of 62 in the first round of the Barona Collegiate Cup. He shot a 71 in the second round to go 11 under on the day. Arnorsson closed out the victory with a 74 on Tuesday, helping the Gophers finish second.
The win was the first by a Gopher in a non-dual event since Jose Mendez's 2014 Big Ten title. Arnorsson is Minnesota's first Big Ten Golfer of the Week since Jon DuToit received the award last April 1.
