Final Team Results
The Gophers completed their final round at the 2016 Big Ten Championship on Sunday, finishing in a tie for 11th place as a team. As a team, Minnesota had its best team round of the tournament on Sunday, shooting a 300. The Maroon and Gold's total score was 910.
The Gophers got off to a hot start Sunday, with four of the five golfers picking up a birdie in their first five holes, and two golfers, Peter Jones and Jon DuToit, birdieing four holes on the back nine after teeing off on hole 10.
DuToit finished the tournament with the Gophers' best score, carding a 220 over the three rounds. DuToit shot a 74 on Sunday, birdieing four of the first six holes. He also birdied the final hole of the competition, for a total of five on the day. DuToit finished 27th in the tournament
Rúnar Arnorsson posted a 75 in Sunday's round, picking up birdies on his first and last holes of the day, a feat which he also accomplished in the first round. He finished the tournament with a score of 225 and tied for 36th.
Riley Johnson had his best round of the tournament on Sunday, posting a 73. He had a bogey on his second hole, but got a birdie just two holes later to bring his score back to even par. He birdied his last hole of the competition, sealing a 1-over round. He had a 235 total score and finished tied for 60th.
Justin Doeden and Peter Jones also finished the tournament on Sunday for the Gophers, posting total scores of 233 and 240 respectively. Doeden finished 57th, while Jones finished in 67th.
Illinois rode a strong 24-under final round to take the team title. Thomas Detry of Illinois won the individual title with a total score of 206.

SJU Invitational: Three Gophers individuals played at the SJU Spring Invitational this weekend. Matt Rachey finished second at 6 under with rounds of 68, 70 and 70. William Leaf tied for ninth, and Charlie Duensing for 13th. Click here for results.
