Minnesota Treks to North Dakota State on Tuesday

The No. 19 Minnesota baseball program will embark on its fourth consecutive road game when it travels to North Dakota State for a Tuesday non-conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Fargo, N.D.
The Gophers (25-11, 9-2 Big Ten) have won 15 of their last 17 contests and their last seven road games heading into their second meeting with North Dakota State (20-18, 7-11 Summit) this season.
In the opening duel, the Maroon and Gold took a 10-0 decision at Siebert Field in which all facets of the game favored the home squad. Minnesota tallied 13 hits, allowed just four and played a flawless game in the field.
Cole McDevitt and Connor Schaefbauer paced the offense with three hits and two RBI apiece. McDevitt drilled a solo homer, while Schaefbauer added a double.
Jake Stevenson earned the nod on the mound and tossed 3.0 scoreless innings. He was then relieved by five other pitchers who scattered just two and did not allow a baserunner in the final three innings of play.
The Gophers bring with them the No. 5 offense in the country with a team batting average of .327. Matt Fiedler leads the club with a .403 clip, while reigning Big Ten Player of the Week Austin Athmann follows close behind at .396.
Athmann boasts the 13th-highest slugging percentage in the nation with a .730 mark, aided by 13 doubles and eight home runs.
Four pitchers hold ERAs under 4.00 as Brian Glowicki (3.45), Dalton Sawyer (3.47), Matt Fiedler (3.60) and Toby Anderson (3.74) have combined for 16 wins as a quartet.
After its trip to North Dakota State, Minnesota will remain on the road when it heads south for a three-game set at Big Ten foe Illinois, April 29-May 1.

The two teams split last season's results with each team winning on its own turf. The first game of the 2016 series was cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions, while the second game was a 10-0 victory for the Gophers.
