Gophers Finish Round One at Silverado

NAPA, Calif. - Freshman Muyu Wu leads the way for the Minnesota women's golf team following the opening round of the Silverado Showdown, firing a one-over-par 73 to tie for 16th after 18 holes at the resort's North Course Sunday.
As a team, the Gophers stand 13th with a score of 303, two shots back of a four-way tie for ninth.
Wu was followed closely behind by junior Emie Peronnin, who fired a three-over-par 75 to tie for 36th. One stroke back is sophomore Heather Ciskowski, among a tie for 46th with her four-over-par 76.
Fellow sophomore Sabrine Garrison is tied for 72nd after an opening-round 79 (+7), while freshman Maggie Heggerston is tied for 91st at 13-over-par 85.
The tournament, co-hosted by Oregon and Colorado, has Stanford atop the team standings at two-under-par 286 while the Ducks' Cathleen Santoso leads the field after a five-under-par 67.
Second-round action from the Silverado Resort continues Monday morning, with the Gophers' tee times scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. PT from the 10th tee.
