Big Ten Player of the Year Rachel Banham was one of five women's basketball players invited to the College Basketball Awards Show at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. The show will air Friday, April 8 on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. CT.

The John R. Wooden Award, for which Banham is a finalist, will be presented to one women's and one men's winner. The award is given to the top player in the nation as selected by a committee of voters.

On her first night in California, Banham attended a Lakers game and met her favorite player, Kobe Bryant. The two had corresponded on Twitter following Banham's 60-point game before meeting in person for the first time.
