MINNEAPOLIS — The National Hockey League's Stanley Cup is one of the most recognizable trophies in sports, in part because of its accessiblity and widespread travel schedule. There are countless stories of the trophy, nicknamed "the Cup," and it even has its own entrusted "Keepers of the Cup" to care for it.

In five appearances in the NCAA national championship game in the last five years, the University of Minnesota has brought home college women's hockey's top trophy four times, winning back-to-back national titles in 2012 and 2013 and again in 2015 and 2016.

Whether it's the first time, the fourth time, or even the seventh time, nothing beats bringing home the national championship trophy, nicknamed "Natty," and sharing it with passionate Gopher fans.

Mirroring the mobility of the Cup, the Gophers are sharing the 2016 NCAA national championship trophy with fans. Natty has already made its way throughout the University of Minnesota campus and Dinkytown, along with visits to the Minnesota State Capitol for recognition by the Senate and the House.

Just how far the "Natty Tour" stretches is still to be determined, but fans can track the trophy's appearances on social media using the hashtag #NattyTour2K16. Be sure to follow @GopherWHockey on Twitter and Instagram for the latest news and notes on the national champions as well.
