The Second Novice Eight fell to Wisconsin by a difference of 14.8 seconds while the First Novice Eight fell by 4.4 seconds. Though both novice boats suffered defeats, the First Novice Eight improved vastly from just a week ago where they fell to Wisconsin by over 10 seconds.
Minnesota's Third Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four finished behind the Badgers by 45.2 and 14.9 seconds respectively. The First Varsity Four came in second by 19 seconds.
The Gophers' Second Varsity Eight fell behind early but gave a great effort the last half of the race. The comeback fell short as the Gophers fell by 3.9 seconds. In the last race of the day, Minnesota fell to Wisconsin by 12.1 seconds.
"I am very happy we made up some ground on them this week," coach Wendy Davis said. "We will sharpen things up and prepare for Big Tens in two weeks."
Though they were held winless, Minnesota showed much improvement from just a week ago as they turn their attention to Big Ten Championships in two weeks in Indianapolis.
