Irene Claudia Kroll Boathouse
The University of Minnesota boasts one of the few facilities in the nation with an on-campus boathouse, located on the banks of the Mississippi River which runs through the campus. Nestled in the midst of the East River Flats Park, the Golden Gophers opened their new facility in the winter of 2007. The Boathouse houses a 35 seat erg room, an indoor tank, which seats 10 rowers, a full locker-room, coaches offices and boat storage area. The facility was renamed the Irene Claudia Kroll Boathouse in 2018 in honor of Ms. Kroll, a staunch advocate for education and opportunities for women.
