Field Announced for Mariucci Classic

MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) – The 26th annual Mariucci Classic field has been set for this coming season, Dec. 30-31, as Alabama Huntsville, Massachusetts and Mercyhurst will join the Gophers at the annual holiday tournament.
The Gophers have won 13 of 25 Mariucci Classic titles since the inaugural event in 1991-92 and boast a 34-13-3 all-time record at the home tournament. The Maroon & Gold are 4-0-0 all-time against the Chargers, 3-0-0 all-time against the Minutemen and 2-0-0 all-time against the Lakers (Minnesota has not played any of the teams in the Mariucci Classic).
Massachusetts will make its third all-time appearance at the Mariucci Classic (1999-2000, 2006-07) with the Minutemen holding a 1-2-1 all-time record at the Mariucci Classic. Alabama Huntsville is making its second appearance at the Mariucci Classic after going 0-2-0 at the event in 2012-13. Mercyhurst is making its Mariucci Classic debut this year.
