MINNEAPOLIS -- Amanda Leveille wrapped up her college hockey career in March, capping it off with a national championship victory in which she made 32 saves.
Leveille recently finished up her degree from the University of Minnesota, concluding her last class in recreation, park, and leisure studies earlier this month.
With school wrapped up, Leveille plans on working at a goaltending camp this summer led by Mitch Baker, the head of Premier Goaltending Development in Minnesota. She will join fellow Gopher, Emma May, as an instructor at the camp.
"I decided to spend my time here in Minnesota this summer, working, and meeting new, young goaltenders," Leveille said.
Leveille recently signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Beauts, the NWHL team that she was drafted by this past year. She plans to head back to her native Kingston, Ontario, before heading off to Buffalo, N.Y., in June for a camp with the Beauts.
Leveille is excited to meet her future teammates and get to know the city where she will call home next year.
With many talented prospects in the program, it is unclear whether Leveille will become the Beauts' starting goaltender immediately.
"I don't know exactly what my role will be, but whatever it is, I am going to make the best of it and be the best teammate that I can," Leveille said. "I want to learn and develop the best that I can."
Following her career as a goaltender, Leveille hopes to continue her involvement with hockey as a sport psychologist.
"I want to stay surrounded by hockey and make a career out of it," Leveille said.
Leveille is thankful for the experiences that her time with the Gopher women's hockey program brought her.
"I will always remember the teammates and my coaching staff. I will always remember the national championship games and the celebrations with my teammates," Leveille said. "Those were some of the best memories.
"It was pretty special, I'm very grateful for that."
