FOREST LAKE, Minn. - One week after claiming the state's amateur four-ball title with teammate Sabrine Garrison, rising junior Heather Ciskowski continued her streak of strong tournament play on Thursday. Ciskowski was one of four qualifiers who punched their ticket to the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, which will be contested August 3-7 at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa.

Ciskowski used a birdie on the final hole to join a four-way playoff, and earned one of the three remaining spots following medalist Casey Danielson to qualify for the national field.

"It's very exciting to have qualified," Ciskowski said following the tournament. "Overall, I thought my play today was consistent and reflected my calm demeanor throughout the day. I really just let it happen and did not force anything and I think it showed with my consistency. I felt my putting was really instrumental today to my success as well. This is an area of my game that I have been working on and I am happy to see the results.

The Barrington, Ill., native finished the 18-hole tournament with a score of two-over-par 74, including the birdie on 18. Following the U.S. Women's Amateur, Ciskowski will return to Minneapolis and prepare to continue adding to her accomplishments as a Gopher.

"I am extremely thrilled to start the season again in August with my team," she added. "They are all very special people in my life and I am lucky to have the opportunity to play with all of them."
