Women's Golf Announces 2016-17 Schedule

The University of Minnesota women's golf team will once again open its season at home, as the Gophers unveiled their schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season on Tuesday.
"We are looking forward to a great season of competition, beginning with the Minnesota Invitational in September," said head coach Michele Redman. "We will be playing some new courses while also returning to tournaments we have enjoyed in the past, as we look to challenge our team and get better through the season."
For the fourth year, the Maroon and Gold will open their season at the Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, hosting the Minnesota Invitational on September 12 and 13.
Two weeks later, the Gophers will travel to Greenville, S.C., for the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman University on September 23-25. A return to tTexas for the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin follows on October 17-18, while fall competition will wrap up at the Cardinal Cup hosted by Louisville on October 23-25.
Spring season will get underway with a pair of tournaments in the Sunshine State, beginning with the Florida State Match Up on February 10-12 in Tallahassee. Two weeks later, the Gophers travel to Coral Gables for the Hurricane Invitational, to be contested from February 27 to March 1.
Minnesota will compete twice more in March, traveling to the Bay Area Intercollegiate in Fairfax, Calif., as the University of San Francisco hosts the event from March 6-7. Notre Dame will host the next tournament, the Clover Cup, scheduled for competition in Mesa, Ariz., from March 17-19.
The Gophers' final regular season tune-up will be in Columbus, Ohio at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational hosted by Ohio State on April 15-16.
One week later, Minnesota will return to Ohio for the Big Ten Championship, which will be played April 21-23 at the TPC River's Bend in Maineville.
