Two Gophers Named to Major League Dreams Showcase

Gopher baseball will once again be represented at the Northwoods League Major League Dreams Showcase, announced today by the league. Eddie Estrada and Jordan Kozicky will travel to Madison, Wis. on Tuesday, August 9 where they will play at Warner Park, home of the Madison Mallards.

Participants are hand-selected by Major League Scouts to partake in pregame workouts in front of the panel. The participants are split up into four teams that play a double-header. The first game will start at 4:05 p.m. and will feature Kozicky. The second game is scheduled to begin at 7:35 p.m., featuring Estrada.

Kozicky (Mankato MoonDogs) has been a steady fixture at the plate this summer. He has a .299 batting average with one home run and 14 RBIs. He has also scored 19 runs and has drawn 14 walks. Kozicky has posted a .398 on-base percentage in 133 plate appearances. Fielding has been another strong part of Kozicky's game, boasting a .993 fielding percentage, committed just one error while playing 20 games in the infield. Kozicky was also selected to this year's Northwoods League All-Star Game.

Estrada (Willmar Stingers) has been on fire this year. He has a .320 batting average with three home runs and 19 RBIs. Estrada has also walked 19 times, contributed nine doubles, reached base in 15 straight games and posted a .431 on-base percentage. He has a solid .505 slugging percentage and a 0.936 on-base plus slugging percentage. In the field, Estrada has just one error and recorded 24 putouts.
