We take one last look at how our newcomers have been doing this summer with less than a month until classes start at the University of Minnesota (First Update)

With already seven strong freshmen coming to campus the Gophers released exciting news last week adding two more players. Pitcher Tori Finucane will transfer from Missouri and infielder Allie Arneson will transfer from Virginia for the upcoming season. (Gophers Add Finucane, Arneson) (Star Tribune)

Kendal Judge was named to the Daily Southtown All-Area team, PGF Central Region team and earned FloSoftball All-American honors. ( Chicago Tribune)

Kaylen Krueger earned All-State honors after a strong senior season. ( WTAQ) ( Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)

MaKenna Partain earned 4A Player of the Year in Oregon after leading her team to a state championship. (Oregon Live)

Amber Fiser joined Partain as future Gophers to win a state title this year.

Fiser took the Iowa softball scene by storm in the postseason setting numerous strikeout records at the state tournament. ( Des Moines Register)

Fellow Iowa native Kendyl Lindaman made a name for herself chasing the national home run record. The Des Moine Register had a nice feature on her. (One Record Doesn't Define Me)

Lindaman was also on ESPNU playing in the PGF All-American game.

She also had quite the fan base.

Minnesota natives Carlie Brandt and Katelyn Kemmetmueller split the Minnesota player of the year awards. Brandt won the 2016 Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year and Kemmetmueller was named Ms. Softball. (Star Tribune Kemmetmueller feature)

They teamed up in a Border Battle All-Star game and won the USSSA National Championship together with Brandt earning tournament MVP.
