FRENCH LICK, Ind. - Minnesota head women's golf coach Michele Redman took to the course this past weekend, competing at the Legends Championship, hosted by the Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort.
"It was a great experience for me this past weekend," Redman said. "Beyond the challenge of competing, it is beneficial for me because I always learn something that can help the team."
Redman, who played her college golf at nearby Indiana University, finished the two-day, 36-hole tournament with a score of even-par 144. She carded a bogey-free, three-under-par 69 the first day followed by a 75 in the finale, tying with Jean Bartholomew for sixth.
Trish Johnson defeated Juli Inkster in a playoff requiring six holes to win the event's title, finishing five-under par for the tournament.
Redman, who has won twice on the Legends Tour and twice during her LPGA career, spent 20 years competing in the latter circuit after a career with the Hoosiers in which she was a four-time All-Big Ten selection, a two-time All-American and the medalist of the 1987 Big Ten Championships.
