Three Gophers Named to B1G Watch List

Three members of the Minnesota women's golf team were selected among the Big Ten Golfers to Watch on Wednesday. The trio honored from the Maroon and Gold were senior Emie Peronnin and juniors Heather Ciskowski and Sabrine Garrison.

Peronnin spent all nine tournaments in 2015-16 as a member of the Gopher lineup, and finished the spring season with the highest scoring average (74.33) among the team. Her best finish came at the UCF Challenge (72-73-75--220, +4), tying for sixth which was also her best career result. She finished the year with a scoring average of 74.93, fourth on the team.

Ciskowski set a new school record for single-season scoring average at 73.93 strokes per round, including two top-20 finishes during the year, both coming during the fall. Her best career performance came at the Windy City Collegiate Classic, marking new career bests in tournament score, round and score to par as she tied for 19th (72-70-73-215, -1). Ciskowski led the Gophers at the Big Ten Championship, tying for 30th at four-over-par. This summer, she and Garrison won the Minnesota State Amateur Four-Ball Championship and Ciskowski additionally qualified for and competed at the U.S. Women's Amateur in August.

Garrison ended the year with the second-best scoring average on the team of 74.04, besting the previous school record and second only to Ciskowski. She had one top-10 and three top-20 finishes, the former coming at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Her tournament score there of 206 (69-68-69) set a new school 54-hole record as she finished tied for 10th at 10-under-par.

The Gophers women's golf season opens on September 12-13 at the Minnesota Invitational at the Minikahda Club in Minneapolis.
