Gophers Travel to Furman

The Minnesota women's golf team hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to Greenville, S.C., for the Lady Paladin Invitational. Taking place over three days at the par-72, 6,313-yard Furman University Golf Club, the Gophers are among a 20-team field.
Action begins Friday and Saturday with 9:00 a.m. tee times, followed by 8:00 a.m. tee times on Sunday morning. On Friday, the Gophers lineup will tee off from hole #1 starting at 9:45 a.m. ET.
Joining the Gophers in the field are two other Big Ten teams in Illinois and Maryland, along with Augusta, Daytona State, East Tennessee State, host Furman, Georgetown, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, Missouri, New Mexico, Ole Miss, Texas, Tulsa, UNC Wilmington, Virginia Tech and Wofford.
The Minnesota lineup this weekend will consist of junior Heather Ciskowski, sophomore Muyu Wu, senior Emie Peronnin, junior Sabrine Garrison and sophomore Maggie Heggerston. Fellow sophomore Niamh Ward will compete individually at the tournament.
The Gophers are coming off a ninth-place finish in their season-opening tournament last week, the Minnesota Invitational. Ciskowski led the way with a third-place finish, while Wu placed 13th, both career-best finishes.
