Gophers Move Up After Second Round at Furman

GREENVILLE, S.C. - After 36 holes of play at the Lady Paladin Invitational, the Minnesota women's golf team sits tied for 17th with one round remaining at the Furman University Golf Club. The Gophers (305-304-309) are tied with New Mexico.
All five Gophers in the lineup are within one stroke of each other. Juniors Sabrine Garrison (75-78) and Heather Ciskowski (77-76) are tied for 65th at 9-over-par 153. The three others are all tied for 69th, with sophomore Muyu Wu (81-73-154) posting the low Gopher round of the day. Senior Emie Peronnin (77-77-154) and sophomore Maggie Heggerston (76-78-154) join the tie at 10-over-par.
Individual competitor Niamh Ward is two shots behind, tied for 81st at 12-over-par (78-78-156).
Host Furman and Texas share the second round lead at 9-under par, with the Lady Paladins' Alice Chen atop the leaderboard at 5-under-par 139.
The Lady Paladin Invitational concludes Sunday morning, with the Gophers scheduled to tee off beginning at 8:45 a.m. ET.
