Women's Hockey - #2
Last Week: The Gophers defeated the Minnesota Whitecaps in overtime 5-4 in an exhibition game and picked up their second win versus Minnesota State 5-3.
Coming Up: Minnesota travels to Minnesota Duluth for a conference match-up Friday and Saturday. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. CT both days at AMSOIL Arena.
Men's Gymnastics - #4
Last Week: Minnesota's men's gymnastics team held its 50th Annual Alumni Meet on Saturday afternoon. The team of alumni kept their perfect winning streak alive over current Gophers with a final score of 425.300-400.400.
Coming Up: Minnesota will officially kick off the 2017 season at the Windy City Invitational next Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Men's Hockey - #9
Coming Up: The Maroon and Gold return to Big Ten action with a home series against Michigan, Jan. 13-14, at Mariucci Arena.
Wrestling - #12
Last Week: The Gophers (3-2, 2-1) fell to Penn State (5-0, 1-0), 33-6 Friday night. The loss snaps a 13-match unbeaten streak Minnesota had held against Penn State.
Coming Up: The Gophers get a welcomed break to rest before returning to the mat next Sunday, when Minnesota hosts Wisconsin at the Sports Pavilion.
Women's Swimming and Diving - #16
Last Week: Yu Zhou led the women's success with a first place finish in 3-meter diving, scoring 389.40. Sarah Bacon took second place in the event, following Zhou with a score of 369.35.
Coming Up: The team heads to Colorado on Jan. 13-14 to take on the University of Denver.
Women's Gymnastics - #18
Last Week: Minnesota's women's gymnastics team fell to No. 14 Denver in the season opener, 195.875-194.725, on Saturday night at the Sports Pavilion.
Coming Up: The Gophers will travel to College Park, Md. this weekend to face Maryland and Arizona on Saturday, Jan. 14. Competition is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
Men's Track & Field - #18
Coming Up: The Gophers open the season with the Minnesota Open at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
Men's Basketball - #24
Last Week: Amir Coffey had 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, helping the Gophers stave off another setback at home with a 78-68 victory over Ohio State on Sunday night.
Coming Up: Minnesota hits the road for the rematch on Wednesday with Michigan State at 6:00 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
Also Receiving Votes: The men's swimming and diving team received two votes in the CSAA Coaches poll.
