Head Coach Marlene Stollings
On Michigan State's successful second half...
"They increased their intensity and we didn't match it. We've got to be on the opposite side of that, where we're increasing our intensity and forcing them to match ours. It continues to be part of our growth and maturation process, but we've got to start getting there."
On Taiye Bello's start...
"She earned the right to start in practice. We're going to reward whoever is fighting for that position in practice. We've got a lot of people playing that spot right now, and whoever earns it will be rewarded with the starting position."
On use of multiple bench players...
"We're going to play people that have earned the right to be out on the floor. [Gadiva Hubbard] being out [with a broken nose] obviously allowed Jasmine [Brunson] the opportunity to start, but the subbing after that are people that have earned the right to play. We're just looking for certain combinations that'll work."
On rebounding struggles...
"That's a toughness play. That's an area that we did not perform well in.
They were getting three and four shots at the basket late in the fourth quarter. There's not really a lot strategically about that, that's stepping up and going and getting the ball."
Sophomore Kenisha Bell
