Women's Hockey - #2
Coming Up: The Gophers host the Minnesota Whitecaps in a free exhibition game at Ridder Arena at 7 p.m. CT Friday before facing Minnesota State in a non-conference match-up at Braemar Arena in Edina, Minn., for the 2017 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Women's Face-off Classic at 3 p.m. CT Sunday.
Men's Gymnastics - #4
Coming Up: The University of Minnesota men's gymnastics team welcomes program alumni to the Sports Pavilion this Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1:30 p.m. for a battle between Minnesota's current roster and former Gophers.
Wrestling - #9
Last Week: The Gophers took fourth in the team race at the Southern Scuffle, scoring 118 points. They had more finalists, more placewinners, more team points and their best finish in the event since 2014.
This Week: The Gophers will return to the mat this coming Friday, when they welcome No. 2 Penn State to the Sports Pavilion.
Men's Hockey - #9
Last Week: The Golden Gophers picked up two victories with a 5-1 win over Mercyhurst and a 4-1 win over Massachusetts.
Coming Up: The Maroon and Gold return to Big Ten action with a home series against Michigan, Jan. 13-14, at Mariucci Arena.
Women's Swimming and Diving - #16
Coming Up: The Gophers return to action January 7 as they take on Hawaii in Honolulu.
Women's Gymnastics - #16
Last Week: The Gophers earned a 192.700 in its annual intrasquad meet on Monday evening at the Sports Pavilion.
This Week: Minnesota will host Denver in the program's official season opener on Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Sports Pavilion. Competition will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Also Receiving Votes: The Gopher men's basketball team received 56 votes in the Associated Press poll after defeating #15 Purdue. The men's swimming and diving team received two votes in the CSAA Coaches poll.
