For the second time this season, Sydney Squires has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the Big Ten Conference office announced today.

Squires scored three goals this past weekend, two of which were against Indiana in the Gophers 3-2 win. She scored the game-winning goal against Purdue on Sunday, in their 2-0 victory.

"We are pleased as a team to see how Sydney has been able to finish at the net consistently this year," head coach Stefanie Golan said. "She is a big part of why we have been able to be so successful this season, and we are excited to keep seeing what we can do as a team."

The Hudson, Wis. native is tied for the second most goals in the NCAA with 13 goals this season, and is tied for the NCAA lead among power five scorers.

Her 30 career goals is now seventh most in Minnesota soccer program-history. The 13 goals for Squires this season is tied for the seventh most in a single season.

Her five game-winning goals ties her for the second most in a single season in program history, and also puts her in a tie for most in the Big Ten. Squires is also the leader total points in the Big Ten with 29, three more than any other player in the conference.

This is the second time Squires has earned a Big Ten weekly honor, with both coming this season.
