Minnesota Tied for Fourth at Royal Oaks

Dallas-- The Minnesota Gophers are tied for fourth through 36 holes at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate. Riley Johnson sits in a top-10 position, leading the team in a tie for eighth.
Minnesota combined for a 7-under 561 in two rounds. The Gophers are only two shots back from a tie for second with Arkansas. The team tied a season-low round score of 280, set at the Gopher Invitational in September.
Johnson, a senior, carded a 4-under 138. After shooting par in the first round, he shot a 4-under 67 in the second round. Johnson's score of 67 tied his career-best round, set as a sophomore in 2016 at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Angus Flanagan sits in a tie for 18th place. He carded a 70 in both rounds, good for a 2-under 140 and second place within in the team.
Thomas Longbella is tied for 25th with a 1-under 141. Longbella shot 69 and 72 in the first two rounds, and leads the field in pars made. Last year's Royal Oaks Intercollegiate was Longbella's best finish of the season.
Peter Jones is tied for 40th with a score of 144. Charlie Duensing is tied for 60th with a score of 150.
Host Baylor leads the field with a 22-under 546. Cooper Dossey of Baylor leads individuals with a 133 (-9).
The Gophers will play the third round tomorrow, teeing off at 8:30 AM.
