ATLANTA - High winds and adverse conditions Sunday forced the cancellation of the final round of the Louisville Ladies Fall Invitational, as the Gophers concluded their fall season placing eighth at the Atlanta Athletic Club Highlands Course.
"It was nice to see some improvement after having the last three weeks off," said head coach Michele Redman. "We were close to a great round yesterday. I'm looking forward to some off time to work with the student-athletes."
Freshman Grace Kellar (76-77--153) and junior Muyu Wu (77-77--154) tied for 17th and 19th at 9- and 10-over-par, respectively. Freshman Joanne Free was three strokes behind Wu, tied for 32nd at 12-over (82-75--157) .
Senior Sabrine Garrison (83-76--159) and freshman Kate Lillie (86-82--168) ended the tournament tied for 45th and 63rd respectively.
Individual competitor Jessica Lee (85-79--164) tied for 53rd.
Host Louisville and Kennesaw State shared the team title at 20-over-par, with the Gophers eighth at 47-over (318-305--623). Coastal Carolina's Malene Krolboll Hansen earned medalist honors at even par (72-72--144).
The Gophers will not return to tournament competition until February, when they travel to the Florida State Match Up from Feb. 9-11, 2018 in Tallahassee.
