MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota women's cross country team climbed six places to No. 13 in the country in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll.

The Golden Gophers climbed six places to No. 13 this week after entering last week's Big Ten Conference Championship ranked 19th in the country. Minnesota earned team and individual runner-up showings at the B1G Championship, defeating then- No. 9 Penn State, then-No. 17 Wisconsin, then-No. 20 Michigan State, and then-No. 29 Indiana.

Minnesota's No. 13 ranking is the program's highest ranking since also ranking 13th in the week seven poll during the 2009 season; the Gophers went on to finish 10th at the 2009 NCAA Championship.

This week, Minnesota also maintained the top spot in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings ahead of regional foes Iowa State and Oklahoma State rounding out the top three teams in the region.

The Gophers host the 37th annual running of Rocky's Run this Sunday before beginning the NCAA postseason next Friday, Nov. 10 at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Ames, Iowa.
