The University of Minnesota returns home after their east coast trip last weekend and will be hosting the University of Indiana on Friday for the annual Rock the Robbie event. Kick off is set for 6:00 p.m. at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.

SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS

Indiana will come to St. Paul with a 5-6-2 record this year, 1-3-1 in the Big Ten. They are coming off back-to-back losses at home to Northwestern and Illinois, where they were outscored 5-2 combined. They have fared better on the road this season thus far, holding a 4-1-1 record away from Bloomington, Ind. The pair of Maya Piper and Chandra Davidson, who have scored six and five goals this season, lead the Hoosiers offensively. They team has both scored and surrendered 17 goals this season with goalkeeper Bethany Kopel starting all 13 games for Indiana. She has made 54 saves this season, and has registered four shutouts. Indiana is second in the Big Ten in total shots with 176, and is third in shots per game at 14.67.

LAST TIME OUT - MARYLAND

The Gophers swept a road weekend for the fifth straight season when they defeated Maryland 3-1 in College Park, Md. on Sunday Oct. 1. The Gophers started the scoring quickly with two goals in the first 11 minutes to take a 2-0 lead before wrapping up the 3-1 victory with an April Bockin score in the second half. Minnesota had just four shots in the game, but all four were on goal, and three ended up as celebrations for the Maroon and Gold. The Gophers jumped up in the Big Ten standings after their impressive weekend, going from eighth at the start of the weekend, to a tie for third place by the end of it.

"Six points on a road weekend is huge," head coach Stefanie Golan said. "It is hard enough to win games in the Big Ten, and even harder to win on the road. Now we get to come home and defend the Robbie and we are looking forward to being able to play in front of our home fans."

ROCKING THE ROBBIE

Last season, the Gophers hosted their Rock the Robbie event against Penn State. The Gophers would eventually tie the Nittany Lions, 1-1, but broke the Elizabeth Lyle Robbie attendance record with 1,758 fans packed into the facility, breaking the previous mark back against Purdue in 2005.

SHARING IS CARING

This season the Minnesota Golden Gophers have had 14 different players score, which leads the Big Ten along with being a program-record. Six of those players scored their first collegiate goals when they scored this season, the latest being junior midfielder Molly Fiedler who scored the opening goal against Maryland.

TAKING CHARGE

This past weekend, both Sydney Squires and Bockin continued to enhance their already impressive resumes this season. Squires scored her fourth game-winning goal when she scored against Rutgers last Friday, her Big Ten leading 10th goal of the season. Bockin was credited with two assists against Rutgers to put her season total to nine this season, which not only leads the Big Ten, but is tied for the NCAA lead.
