Gophers Release 2017-18 Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's track & field program, under the direction of Matt Bingle for the seventh season, has announced its 2017-18 competition schedule, which includes nine weeks of indoor meets and nine weeks of outdoor meets with competitions in 13 different states.

Members of the Gopher women's track & field team will kick off the 2018 indoor season at the South Dakota State Holiday Invite on Friday, Dec. 1.

The indoor schedule includes 13 meets, including 11 regular season meets. Highlighting the indoor slate are three home meets, beginning with the Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Dual which returns to the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan. 13, and the Big Ten Indoor Championship in Geneva, Ohio (Feb. 23-24).

After the Dual, Minnesota's home schedule also includes the annual Jack Johnson Classic (Jan. 26-27) and the Parents Day Invite (Feb. 17).

The Gophers are scheduled to compete in up to seven different states during the indoor season in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio, and Texas.

The Big Ten Indoor Championship is set for Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, before the NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas (March 9-10).

The outdoor schedule begins with a spring break trip to Houston, Texas, for the University of Houston Cougar Spring Break Invite (March 15).

The outdoor season includes nine weeks of competition, and the Gophers will compete in Texas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Minnesota, California, Iowa, Kentucky, Indiana, and Oregon.

Indiana is serving as host of the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, May 11-13, in Bloomington, Ind. The NCAA West Prelim will be held in Sacramento, Calif., (May 24-26) with the NCAA Outdoor Championship to follow June 6-9 in Eugene, Ore.
