Bell Named to Naismith Watch List

Kenisha Bell has been named to the Citizen Naismith Trophy watch list. The Atlanta Tipoff Clip gives the award to the nation's top collegiate player.

Bell (Minneapolis, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy High School) currently leads the Gophers with an average of 19.9 points per game and one of the top assist averages in the nation, 7.4 per game. The redshirt junior point guard has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.06.

Last week, Bell was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week following three consecutive double-doubles. She has set or tied career highs with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in games this season.

The Naismith Trophy's early watch list includes 50 players. A midseason list of 30 players will be released Feb. 12.
