COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Hunter Lucas led the Fall Finale field on Friday as the University of Minnesota men's cross country team claimed its 11th-straight individual champion at the eight-kilometer competition.

An unattached freshman this year for the Gophers, Lucas clocked a 25:53 to win the men's eight-kilometer race on Friday evening at the Collegeville Trails - edging fellow unattached Minnesota freshman Patrick Roos for the title. Roos also clocked a 25:53 to finish as the runner-up.

Redshirt freshman Jack Manderscheid finished fourth at 26:07 while unattached freshman Jordan MacIntosh came in fifth at 26:39.

Lucas' title continues a stretch of success for the Maroon & Gold in Collegeville dating back to David Van Orsdel's Fall Final title in 2006.

Minnesota returns to action on Friday, Nov. 10 with the 2017 NCAA Midwest Regional in Ames, Iowa. The men's 10-kilometer is set for 11:45 a.m. CT.
