Bacon Wins 1-Meter at Minnesota Diving Invite

MINNEAPOLIS - Sophomore Sarah Bacon stole the show Thursday night inside Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center during day one of the inaugural Minnesota Diving Invitational. Bacon took home first place in the women's 1-meter competition with a score of 334.05.
"My performance tonight was good," Bacon said of her performance. "I felt tired coming out of this morning so this evening I just wanted to have fun."
In the 1-meter, Kristen Hayden dove unattached scoring a finals total of 266.60 while Beth Etternman finished right behind her in fifth (255.05)
On the men's side in the 3-meter competition, Alan LeBlang posted a second place finish with a score of 375.55. Nick Yang posted a fifth place finish scoring 360.80 points.
Diving action continues tomorrow as the women compete in the 1-meter and the men in 3-meter. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. with the top eight divers advance to the finals at 5 p.m.
