This Wednesday's noon game against Cal Poly will be the Gophers' annual field trip day. A few thousand local students will be in attendance at Williams Arena. Gopher Sports asked some of the Gophers about memorable field trips from their younger days.

Kenisha Bell
In middle school I went to Buck Hill. I liked it because it was my first time and I was scared to do it, but I watched all my friends go and it didn't seem too bad when I decided to go. What made it most memorable is that someone broke a bone there going down the steepest hill and that's what I was most scared of.

My favorite field trip was in eighth grade we went to CJ Barrymore's. It was a mini amusement park. It had rock climbing, an epic go kart course, golf, arcades and the best fries I ever tasted. I think the fries made it the most memorable because I love fries.

Jasmine Brunson
My favorite field trip was to this museum in Manhattan. It was so memorable because there were so many amazing things to see. One of the rooms that we went into literally made you feel as though you were in space. Everything was dark and there were stars everywhere and the chairs moved as though you were traveling through space. That was the best part for me because sometimes being on actual earth gets boring. Being in space spices things up a bit.

Jessie Edwards
My favorite field trip was when my grade 6 class had a sleepover at the Perth Zoo. We got to take part in preparing food for the animals and we got to explore the zoo after dark. We all slept in this big barn-like building where we were all eaten alive by mosquitoes overnight! Aside from that it was a lot of fun because I love animals!

Bryanna Fernstrom
My favorite field trip was going to spend a week at Wolf Ridge with my peers in sixth grade. We got to choose our roommates and did various outdoor activities like snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hiking, adventure ropes course, live animal shows, etc. My dad was also a chaperone on this filed trip, which made the experience even better.

Palma Kaposi
During spring break my English class went to Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. They have great museums and a beautiful National Theater. During our visit to Budapest we went to the Hungarian National Museum and during the evening we went to see "Meseauto" at the beautiful National Theater. We all dressed up fancy for the play because it's a formal thing in Hungary. It was a great day that we spent together as a class in the capital of Hungary! Budapest is a beautiful city!

Annalese Lamke
My favorite trip was going to Niagara Cave in fifth grade. I think that I liked it so much because it was one of my first times in a cave, and it was a very cool experience for me.

Carlie Wagner
My favorite field trip was to Eagle Bluff in Lanesboro, Minn. I loved this trip because it was three days long, and it involved a variety of activities like zip lining through the trees, doing archery and playing sand volleyball, but also taught a lot outdoor safety and teamwork! It was memorable because it was just a really fun experience with friends!
