STARTING FIVE
• Fresh off the conclusion of semester final exams, the Minnesota men's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Thursday hosting Oral Roberts at the Barn.
• Redshirt senior Reggie Lynch will be honored prior to tipoff Thursday night as he crossed the 1,000-point mark for his career against Drake. His scoring totals are split between his time at Illinois State (597) and in Dinkytown (406). Only one other current Gopher has scored more than 1,000 points in Nate Mason, who is 10th with 1,400 career points. Junior Jordan Murphy is just 13 points away, standing at 987 points in his three seasons with the Gophers.
• Jordan Murphy is leading the team and Big Ten Conference averaging 20.2 points and 13.0 rebounds per game through the first 12 games - the latter statistic atop the national leaders as well. The three-time Big Ten Player of the Week became the first Gopher to win the award in back-to-back weeks. Murphy is also just the second Gopher to win it three times in the same season. He also leads the country in offensive rebounds (5.3) per game, as of Dec. 20.
• Reggie Lynch is second in the country and leading the Big Ten with 4.2 blocks per game. Lynch tied Joel Przybilla on the Gophers' career list for fifth with 165 career blocks. As a team the Gophers are third in the country with 7.5 blocks per game.
• Murphy has posted 12 double-doubles (highest in the country) thus far this season, and did so in the first 12 games of the season. That is a feat that hasn't been accomplished in 10 years nationwide, when Michael Beasley did so at Kansas State in the 2007-08 season.
